Registration

Medical students must register in the fall and spring along with all University of Virginia students according to procedures specified by the University Registrar (see Final Registration Instructions.)

All medical students must have health insurance coverage (either under your name or under your parents' program). Student Health does not cover hospitalization, x-rays, lab tests, etc. and you are financially liable. Call Student Health (924-1525) if you have questions or need insurance.

Medical students interested in taking Summer Research between their first and second years must register for the Summer Session (434-924-3371). Application materials can be picked up in the Office of the Summer Session.

Students returning from another degree program (Ph.D. or Masters in Public Health) after their third year must register for Clinical Medicine in the Summer Session (434-924-3371).
