Typical day: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Attendance: Attendance at elective activities is mandatory.
- Anyone who is ill or has a personal or family emergency must contact
Student Affairs and the Attending on Service.
- Students are allowed to take off up to 1 day per week to interview
between November 1 and February 1.
- Specific days missed must be approved by the Attending on Service.

Course Description: Goal: Through exposure to individuals with
spinal cord injury in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, a student
will develop knowledge and appreciation for the unique medical problems
and challenges associated with the rehabilitation process.
Skills: Comprehensive rehabilitation assessment and prescription-writing
skills will be emphasized. Students will also have an opportunity to
actively participate in the rehabilitation of individuals with other
diagnoses on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Exposure to acupuncture,
spasticity management through botulinum toxin and outpatient musculoskeletal
care are also possible. Visiting student should follow the directions
in their acceptance email to schedule MIS and CareCast training.
