Policy Regarding Volunteering at Healthcare Events or Fairs
If students are interested in organizing or volunteering for a Healthcare Event or Fair the following is the policy as of July 28, 2011. The School of Medicine encourages students to be active in our community
and volunteer their time. If students are interested in organizing or
volunteering in a healthcare event or fair, they first must secure a
faculty advisor/supervisor for such activities. The faculty member then
must secure permission and sponsorship from his or her clinical department.
The sponsorship of a clinical department is critical. In order for students
to be covered under the University’s liability risk management
plan, the event must be under the auspices of a clinical department,
and students must be acting within the capacity authorized by the clinical
department.
