MOST EVERYONE COMPLETED THESE FIRST 2 STEPS WHEN YOU PICKED UP YOUR ERAS TOKEN IN THE FALL. FOR THOSE THAT DID NOT, HAVE YOU... Done the phonetic pronunciation of your name for the graduation ceremony? The list is in room 3134 for phonetic pronunciation of your names. Make sure that when your full legal name is called out at graduation, you and your family will be able to recognize it as your name. Don't take it for granted that we'll automatically get "John Edward Smith" right. Are you getting married and want your married name called out? Let us know. Let's make sure there are no awkward moments on the big day!!!!

Ordered your cap & gown and checked your name spelling for your diploma? Are you getting married before graduation and want your married name printed on your diploma? Let us know!

Any blocks to spring semester? Take care of these ASAP!

It's Time to Enter Your Rank Order Lists!

Students will enter rank order lists using the NRMP's ROLIC (Rank Order List Input and Confirmation) program, found on the NRMP web site.
ROLIC will be open from 12 noon on January 15th until 9:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on February 23rd.

You must have your AAMC ID and Password to access the program. Directions are on the web. Also coming soon, check your e-mail for a PowerPoint presentation put out by the NRMP giving a step-by-step walk through on entering your list. It will answer most every question you might have. You are encouraged to rank ALL programs with which you interviewed, unless you absolutely would not go there.

Please record your AAMC ID and Password and keep them with you at all times.

INSURANCE: As a heads up, we have learned from the AAMC that some programs do not offer medical insurance through their GME programs until 30 - 90 days after your PGY1 start date, which could adversely affect those folks with pre-existing conditions or who have family members with pre-existing conditions. If this is a concern for you, please contact the programs you are interested in ranking. ALL UVa students who have insurance through Aetna Student Health are covered through August.

Graduation Questionnaire

As the University of Virginia School of Medicine is an active member of the AAMC, filling out the AAMC Graduation Questionnaire is requested. It's your means to make your voice heard about everything from Orientation to Graduation, and all four years in between, and all anonymously. The questionnaire will be available February 14 to students online at www.aamc.org/gq. The GQ Questionnaire is a routine final-year activity and it is part of your professional responsibility to complete this by Match Day.

EARLY MATCH PARTICIPANTS: Please contact Ginny Atwell or Dr. Allison Innes regarding your match results. If you come by Ginny's' office in the morning of your individual Match Day (around 8:30) you should be able to get your results immediately. You may also need to withdraw from the NRMP Match.

TO WITHDRAW FROM THE NRMP MATCH: Please see Ginny or Dr. Innes to withdraw. Be sure to check with your program on exactly what to do (PGY-1 is the issue). Some programs include the PGY-1 year and some only reserve it for you -- but to secure the PGY-1 position you have to rank it with the NRMP.

MATCH DAY / WEEK
For a break down of the events (release dates, the "Scramble", Match Day, etc.) during Match Week, March 14-17, see the November '10 Vital Signs Update.

	Please do not call Student Affairs for your Match results.	However, if you DO NOT match, contact Student Affairs immediately.
