Intubation Tips: Rapid Seq.
Induction - Midazolam (Versed) 0.03-0.1 mg/kg orEtomidate
0.3 mg/kg or Thiopental (Pentothal) 3-5 mg/kg, then Succinylcholine
1.0-1.5mg/kg. After intubatoin consider sedation (Ativan,
Valium, Morphine) and paralysis(Pavulon 0.06-0.1 mg/kg, Vecuronium
0.1-0.25 mg/kg).
NOTE: Follow flow charts (on
general card) numerically and alphabetically downward while
code/arrhythmia continues. If code/arrhythmia resolves, do
not continue down flow chart. Don't use this card without
BLS/ACLS training. Some patients may need care not outlined
above. Based on ACLS Texlbook-94; 1996 Handbook of ECC. Use
of algorithms requires clinical correlation. Always check
relevant labs, esp. ABGs IndMdual patient clinical correlation
required.
