PDA Clinical Skills Videos

Below are links to videos that are quick reviews of clinical procedures and exams that you may be asked to perform during clinical rotations. These video files are compressed for playback on Palm PDAs using either the preinstalled "Photos & Videos" application, or the freeware TCPMP video player. The advantage of TCPMP is that it allows videos to be played full screen, and gives you a progress bar to quickly navigate within a video, and it is available for Palm and Windows Mobile PDAs. Installation

There are two ways of transferring these files to your PDA depending on the model you own.

Installation on Palm TX, Treos, Palm Lifedrive, or other Palm with WiFi connection:

1. Make a WiFi network connection.
2. Open your Blazer web browser (labeled "Web")
3. Browse to this page.
4. Click on the link for the video file to save. Save the file onto your external memory card, in the DCIM folder.
5. Now your files will be available to your "Photos & Videos" application, or TCPMP.

Installation on Palm Tungsten E, or other Palm without WiFi connection:

1. Using a web browser on your computer used for syncing to your PDA, right click on a linked file above, then save the file to your computer. Repeat for all the videos you want on your PDA. NOTE: Internet Explorer renames the files incorrectly. We recommend you use Firefox or Netscape. If you use Internet Explorer you must rename the files so they end with .asf NOT .asx.
2. To transfer the files to your PDA:
   • Windows: Drag and drop videos from your PC to the Quick Install icon or window, Start > Programs > Palm > Palm Quick Install.
   • Mac: drag and drop the videos on Applications> Palm> Send to Handheld.
3. The next time you sync the files will be transferred to your PDA, typically on your external memory card in the DCIM folder. It will be listed in the files available to your "Photos & Videos" applicaton, or TCPMP.
