Graves' Disease

Graves' disease is an autoimmune disease of overactive thyroid gland due to autoantibodies to the TSH recepter that activates it and results also in overgrowth, i.e. diffusely enlarged goiter. On sonography, a diffusely enlarged hypervascular thyroid gland is seen.
