While much of this tutorial has focused on the more common abdominal injuries that may be seen following trauma, the on-call radiologist will often encounter cases not involving trauma where immediate CT diagnosis is still needed. In these cases, careful and thourough examination is critical for effective management. The following sections will review some of the distinguishing features of abdominal inflammatory processes.
