Attendance: Attendance at elective activities is mandatory.

  • Anyone who is ill or has a personal or family emergency must contact Student Affairs and the Attending on Service.
  • Students are allowed to take off up to 1 day per week to interview between November 1 and February 1.
    • Specific days missed must be approved by the Attending on Service.

Course Description: This course is a general musculoskeletal rotation with special emphasis on manual medicine/osteopathic manipulation; Worker’s Comp., and clinic-based non-spinal procedures. The student will work with multiple PM&R faculty in the outpatient musculoskeletal setting and will, as time allows, get the opportunity to see spinal injection and electrodiagnostic procedures.

Goals: Students will see a wide variety of musculoskeletal patients and develop a wide range of musculoskeletal skills.

Learning Objectives:

1. Students will learn how to provide care for spinal patients, sports-related injuries and conditions requiring manual medicine.

2. Students will also obtain a general understanding of Worker’s Comp. patients.
