Research in Endocrinology and Metabolism

Elective Number: 1635 (research)

Rotation Supervisors: Dr. Ayotunde Dokun

Prerequisite: At least a month in advance, submit a research proposal (see how to schedule research electives)

Duration: Maximum 8, Minimum 4 weeks

Available: all Rotations

Report to: Dr. Dokun

Time to Report: 9:00 am

Place to Report: Dr. Dokun's office, Aurbach Med. Res. Bldg.

Typical day: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Attendance: Attendance at elective activities is mandatory.

  • Anyone who is ill or has a personal or family emergency must contact Student Affairs and the Attending on Service.
  • Students are allowed to take off up to 1 day per week to interview between November 1 and February 1.
    • Specific days missed must be approved by the Attending on Service.

Course Description: The goals of this elective are to familiarize students with basic science or clinic research with a specific investigator in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Students will be expected to perform hands-on research, record-keeping, and data analysis of their specific project.
