Rank Order Lists:

Couples Match:

An increasing number of students are planning to be married or are married to fourth year classmates. Couples can link their program choices together so that they can be matched to programs in the same geographic area. When applying, it is advisable to indicate with whom you plan to match and their specialty. The actual coupling of program selections occurs at the time students enter their rank order lists.

Specialty Match (early match):

Separate matches are administered for Child Neurology, Neurotology, Ophthalmology and Plastic Surgery. Information about these matches is available on the Student Affairs website: under Residency, Early Match. In general, students submit their rank order lists in December and the announcement of the match results arrives in January.

Military Match (early match):

Students who have Army, Air Force or Navy commitments have separate matches. They receive application materials from the service branch. The results of the matches are announced in mid-December. The Army will use the ERAS system.
