ERAS - Electronic Residency Application System: Students applying to programs listed in inset will use ERAS. ERAS is a service which transmits residency applications, letters of recommendation, Medical Student Performance Evaluation letters, transcripts and other supporting credentials from medical schools to residency program directors using the Internet.

Applications due by Sept. 16th


Students need 2 COLOR wallet-size (3.5” x 2.5”) photographs, with a LIGHT COLORED background, in professional attire, from the chest up. One is for the ERAS application, one for the Yearbook, and one you can scan and add to the upper right corner of your CV (optional). You must turn in 2 photographs to receive your ERAS Token (password) from Student Affairs.


Financial Aid and Student Affairs can give you helpful info on budgeting for this year. It's going to be expensive, so BE PREPARED!

Universal Application: Students apply to non-ERAS programs using the Universal Application (unless programs provide their own.) The application is available on the NRMP web site (accessible from the Student Source website, under Residency Info) as well as in the NRMP Student Handbook. Students must have ALL of the information requested (see resources on page 4).

Specialty Match Programs: (early match): include Neurotology, Plastic Surgery, and Ophthalmology. These matches are administered by the San Francisco Matching Program. The American Urological Association conducts a matching program for positions in that specialty. Info is available under Residency Info, Early Match on the Student Source website.

Military Match (early match): Students with military commitments have separate matches that are administered by each service branch. Info. and application materials are available from each service branch. The Army and Navy use ERAS. The Air Force does not yet use ERAS.
